We are pleased to announce a brewery trip to Mighty Oak Brewery of Maldon, Essex. This will be alongside our friends at the Old Cross Tavern in Hertford who will also be running a coach. We each have 25 spaces to fill and we will be welcomed by John Boyce, Head Brewer who will take us on a tour of the brewery and tell us about Mighty Oak – its history, its beers and what it has planned for the future. Oh, and there will be plenty of opportunity to try their beers either at the brewery or later on at the Brewery Tap, the company micro-pub in Maldon. The afternoon will also give us a chance to visit other interesting pubs in the picturesque riverside town.
Our pick – up itinerary will be St Albans City Railway Station (9.45am); Hatfield Railway Station (10.00am); Hertford East Station (10.20am) and Ware College (10.30am).
We aim to leave Maldon at around 5.30pm – 6pm, setting down at the same points as above.
Mighty Oak were formed in 1996 and their award winning beers have become popular in Hertfordshire. Who can resist a pint of Oscar Wilde Mild, Captain Bob bitter or Maldon Gold pale golden ale – and then there are the regular specials, this year themed around the celebrations for the RAF centenary.
This will be a popular trip. To book your place on this trip please email Ian Boyd.
