John Bishop receives Dave Burns Memorial Award

Written by Iain Loe

At the close of the AGM South Herts chair Iain Loe presented (virtually) the branch’s Dave Burns Memorial Award (DBMA) to John Bishop.

John has been a member of the Branch committee for over 20 years and the branch contact for all that time. He has been involved with the St Albans Beer & Cider Festival since its inception and the organiser from 2017 onwards. He has been a major contributor to Branch campaigning including POTY and GBG surveying and a distributor of Pints of View.

He is worthy winner of the Branch’s DBMA which is given to CAMRA members who have made a significant contribution to the real ale cause in our area, the county and nationally.

The award is not an annual award and is presented only when the branch feels it is warranted. John and his wife Dee are shortly to leave Hertfordshire for Devon. We are sure he will continue his CAMRA activities there and South Hertfordshire’s loss will be South Devon branch’s gain.
