Every May, CAMRA branches across the UK take part in Mild Month, an initiative to celebrate and highlight the mild beer style. In South Herts we’re doing our bit with events in Hertford and St Albans, and you’re very much invited to get involved!
St Albans Festival of Mild
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May
Across the weekend, some of the city’s best pubs (and one social club) come together to host the St Albans Festival of Mild. An impressive 16 venues are participating this year, all putting on at least one mild, and in some cases two, for us to enjoy.
There are two organised trails which will be really fun and sociable, and everyone is invited to come along. If you haven’t been to one of our socials before, you can be assured of a warm welcome and friendly company.
Equally, if you prefer to experience this celebration of a great beer style in a more solitary way, then feel free to visit the pubs and try their milds in your own order at your leisure, across the weekend.

Tuesday 19th May
Then, just a couple of days later, you can also join us for the 20th anniversary Hertford Mild night. At least four great light or dark cask milds will be available in four great Hertford pubs – one of which is our current branch pub of the year. It’s another chance to enjoy a beer style so rarely seen in the area these days in some excellent company.
