CAMRA Hertfordshire Branches have been working with the Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership to develop this guide, with the aim of encouraging people to use the train to visit the various pubs that are close to one of the Abbey Line stations.

The New River Line Rail Ale Trail is a local guide published by The New River Line Community Rail Partnership with significant input from the South Hertfordshire and Herts & Essex Borders Branches of CAMRA. The guide includes information on train travel, local towns and villages and all real ale pubs found along or nearby the eight-mile route from Broxbourne to Hertford, featuring eighteen main pub entries plus information on all others, cask ale and local breweries.
