45 years of campaigning in Hertfordshire – Monday 20th November

Written by Steve Bury

Monday 20th November, 6.30pm, Farriers Arms, St Albans

In 1972 on 20th November the first branch meeting of the Campaign for the Revitalisation of Ale took place in the Farriers Arms St Albans. At that time the Farriers was only one pub selling real ale in the city followed shortly afterwards by the Lower Red Lion. To celebrate the event a commemorative plaque was placed on the outside of the Farriers in 1982 which is still there to this day, so what better place to have a reunion of the original and current members of the branch. All CAMRA members are invited to join us in celebrating this milestone with the Campaigns oldest branch on Monday 20th November start 6.30 pm a buffet will be provided so could you RSVP to give us some idea of the numbers attending, if you know any of the branches early campaigners please invite them along.
