Guest Speaker: Nick Jones from Oakham Brewery – “The brewery, its beers and new developments”
The October Branch Meeting is to be held on Tuesday 16th October at the Six Bells, St Michaels, St Albans at 8pm.
Our speaker is Nick Jones, Off Trade and Export Manager, from Oakham Ales who will be talking about “The brewery, its beers and new developments”. Oakham Ales started brewing in Oakham in 1993, moving to Peterborough in 1998. A new 75-barrel brewhouse opened in 2006 to cope with the keen demand for their famous JHB beer and their popular Inferno, Citra, Scarlet Macaw and Bishops Farewell brews. Nick will elaborate on the beers and inform us about new developments at the brewery.
The Six Bells is a 16th century timbered Free House featuring in the Good Beer Guide, offering six real ales and good home-cooked food, which is served lunchtimes and evenings. It is open all day. The pub is a 10 minute walk from St Albans Abbey. Verulamium Museum is just around the corner.
Local evening buses include the 300 and 301 routes which pass through St Albans City railway station.
