Written by Les Middlewood

Guest Speaker: Sam Hall: “Reminiscences of a Benskins Area Manager”

Our March Branch Meeting is to be held on Tuesday 19 March at the Harpenden Arms, Harpenden – situated at the junction of High Street and Station Road – at 8pm.

Our speaker is Sam Hall, a former Area Manager at Benskins – Ind Coope. Sam will give us an entertaining talk, bringing to life reminiscences from his job in the 1970s and 80s.

The Harpenden Arms

The Harpenden Arms was completely refurbished in 2016 stocking a range of up to seven Fullers and guest beers. Until the 1960’s it was called the Railway Hotel. With its prominent position in the town centre, there is a tidy and comfortable interior and a small outside drinking area. The pub is open all day from 11am with food available from noon until mid-evening.

Travel

Harpenden railway station is 250 metres away with trains south to St Albans and north to Luton.

  • Hi. I was searching Sam Hall, ex Benskins. I was a area Manager from 1980 to 1992 with Benskins. Good to hear Sam is still with us.
