The December Branch Meeting is to be held on Tuesday 17th December, at the Robin Hood, Victoria Street, St Albans at 8pm.
A copy of the agenda can be found below.
Our speaker is David Thorold, Curator of the Pre-historic to Medieval period at St Albans Museums. David also has an interest in the history of the City’s pubs – many of you may remember his entertaining and enlightening talk to us two years ago. David returns, this time armed with a photographic archive of St Albans pubs. Aptly, his talk is titled “St Albans Pubs – A Photographic History”.
The Robin Hood
The Robin Hood is a warm and friendly community pub 300 yards from St Albans City Station. Featuring in the 2020 edition of the Good Beer Guide, the pub is a rare Hertfordshire home for the fantastic Harvey’s Sussex Best Bitter and offers two other handpumped beers and a sizeable range of ciders and perries.
St Albans City Station is reached by trains north from London St Pancras, Borehamwood and Radlett and south from Luton and Harpenden. St Albans Abbey Station (further away) connects to Watford Junction and London Euston. Buses to and from St Albans to local towns are frequent with most stopping at St Albans City station and/or St.Peter’s Street in the City centre.
