Written by Iain Loe

CANCELLED

We regret that due to the current Covid-19 virus crisis Tuesday’s CAMRA South Herts Branch Meeting at the North Mymms Social Club has been cancelled.

Apologies but I feel it is probably best for everyone’s health to call off the meeting.

Wishing you all the best and hopefully we may be able to meet in April.

The March branch meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th March at the North Mymms Social Club, 38 Station Road, Welham Green AL9 7PG at 8.00pm.

When you arrive please knock on the door to await admittance and have your CAMRA membership card ready. There is a £1 charge for non-Club members.

A copy of the agenda can be found below.

Guest Speakers

A presentation about the CAMRA Members Investment Club (CMIC) by Iain Loe and John Bishop. The CMIC was founded in 1989 to give CAMRA members who wished to buy shares in brewers of real ale, the chance to do so with minimum dealing costs.

The Club now has more than 3,000 members and shareholdings worth over £25m.

The presentation will give members the chance to learn more about the Club, companies in which the Club holds shares, how to join, news of the brewery visits, both at home and abroad, arranged by the Club and the AGM and Annual lunch. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions.

Travel

Welham Green station is a five minute walk from the Club with trains north to Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and beyond and south to Brookmans Park and London.

The North Mymms Social Club is a friendly, air-conditioned , community social club offering two real ales. There are two full-sized snooker tables, pool and darts are also popular. The Club is open lunchtimes and evenings and all-day Friday -Sunday. Card carrying CAMRA members are welcome but must sign, in or be signed in, as a guest.

This will be my first branch meeting as Chairman so I look forward to seeing as many members as possible at the meeting. We have challenging but exciting times ahead, campaigning for great real ale and pubs, so I welcome your support in the coming year.
