Congratulations to the Old Cross Tavern in St Andrew Street, Hertford, crowned South Herts Branch Pub of the Year for 2026.
A multi-times winner of this award, the pub provides an outstanding range of cask ales, stocks a number of craft keg beers and offers a large selection of Belgian and German bottled beers plus a German draught lager. There are four beer festivals a year. The pub continues to keep to its policy of no piped music or fruit machines with just occasional live music, relying on the conviviality of good conversation and laughter – the way everyone likes it.
The pub will be presented with its Gold award on Thursday 30 April from 8pm, to which all Branch members are invited.
