The Abbey Flyer is the affectionate (possibly ironic!) name for the 6½ mile railway line that runs from Watford Junction to St Albans Abbey.
The Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) works with local communities to promote sustainable, accessible rail travel and help the Abbey Line to thrive as a valued community asset. CAMRA Hertfordshire Branches have been working with the CRP to develop this guide, with the aim of encouraging people to use the train to visit the various pubs that are close to one of the Abbey Line stations.
Copies of the guide will be available at the pubs that are included in the Trail, and at local Tourist Offices and libraries.
Trains run regularly throughout the day, 7 days a week, so take the train to the pub, enjoy a pint of cask ale and support the pubs without the problem of driving!
